Aleksandra Janeva Imfeld's is a Croatian artist dividing her time between Brussels and Zagreb.
She moves seamlessly between roles as a choreographer, fascilitator, and creator of forward-thinking educational programs.
With the Nomad Dance Academy, a pioneering Balkan contemporary dance network, she initiated many different project in relation to dance.
She made many dance performances with different groups and enjoys teaching in different circles.
In addition to her dance practice, Aleksandra finds inspiration in complementary art forms such as mural painting and editing dance-related films, enriching her multidisciplinary approach.
She is of the initiators of the Nomad Dance Academy (www.nomaddanceacademy.org)
and Nomad dance academy Croatia.

This initiative tries to establish connections between Balkan countries and to strengthen the dance scene in each one of them.
She danced in companies in Germany, France, Belgium and Croatia.
Aleksandra is a regular movement research teacher and the creator of "The Dots," a unique method she has introduced at SNDO in Amsterdam, ISAC in Brussels,SOZO in Kassel and Dance Academy in Zagreb, and various other venues through shorter workshops.
As an educator, she has shared "The Dots" across Belgium, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Serbia, North Macedonia, Latvia, Croatia, and Germany. This method is aimed at breaking habitual improvisation patterns and exploring new ways of experiencing the body.

Aleksandra Janeva Imfeld is a Croatian artist dividing her time between Brussels and Zagreb. She moves seamlessly between roles as a choreographer, fascilitator, and creator of forward-thinking educational programs. Her work is ever-evolving, driven by ongoing research, collaborative processes, and a dedication to nurturing dynamic artistic communities.Born in Macedonia 1975, Aleksandra’s journey in dance began at the School for Contemporary Dance Ana Maletić in Zagreb. She later pursued further studies in Bruges and Lier, Belgium. In 1998, she was awarded a DanceWEB scholarship in Vienna, and later became a scholarship student at The Jennifer Muller Company in New York. Aleksandra completed her postgraduate studies in 2012 at a.pass (Advanced Performance and Scenography Study) in Brussels, where she developed her distinctive method "The Connector," a framework for collective authorship that she integrates into all her work.Aleksandra has worked at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, the Staatstheater Kassel, the Studio for Contemporary Dance, and Zagreb Dance Company. She has collaborated with numerous artists, including Ismael Ivo, Anna Mondini, The System Castafiore, Irma Omerzo, Brice Leroux, and David Hernandez, and was a close associate of the innovative Croatian performance collective BADco. Additionally, she is a co-founder of the Nomad Dance Academy and Nomad Dance Academy Croatia, contributing significantly to the development of contemporary dance in the Balkans and beyond.Her teaching experience spans a wide array of institutions, including guest teaching positions at the SNDO in Amsterdam, ISAC in Brussels, SOZO in Kassel and the Dance Academy in Zagreb.
She also launched the "Modular School" within the framework of Nomad Dance Academy Croatia, an educational platform designed for choreographers and performing artists.In addition to her dance practice.
